Booty Luv
Formed in 2006 from the ashes of UK R&B crew Big Brovaz, Booty Luv are set to bring some glamour to the Summer Ball. Signed to Ministry of Sound’s legendary house imprint Hed Kandi, this dance duo will be kicking off the party in an up-tempo fashion.
Though Big Brovaz were hailed by many as the next big thing for British urban music thanks to their ingenious sampling (from sources as unexpected as The Sound of Music), their success was short-lived. After being dropped from their label just two years after 2002’s breakthrough single Nu Flow, they came back (albeit one member down) in 2006 and were among the six finalists for the UK’s 2007 Eurovision entry. Being beaten by Scooch must have hurt; their split followed soon after.
With Big Brovaz on the rocks, Chenise Roberts and Nadia Shepherd were approached by Hed Kandi and began work on debut album Boogie 2nite after the #2 chart success of its title track. The first single from their new album, Say It, is due out in the near future.
With singles Boogie 2nite and Some Kinda Rush familiar to anyone who’s been out at least once in Cardiff in the past 18 months, Booty Luv are sure to get the live tent dancing.
